Daniella Maffei

Daniella is a licensed social worker in the state of New Jersey and has experience providing mental health services for adolescents and teens. Daniella graduated with her BSW from Seton Hall University and with her MSW from Rutgers University’s advanced standing program before obtaining her licensure in Social Work. Daniella has experience providing counseling and therapeutic services for adolescents and teens within multiple schools-based programs consisting of facilitating after school group therapy, psychoeducational groups, individual therapy, and outreach services. Daniella has experience providing educational counseling on substance use and has used restorative practices in reducing harmful behaviors for students in high school. Within the private practice setting, Daniella also works with young adults navigating the transition from high school to college, careers, or independent living, offering guidance and support during this critical stage of development.

In working with children, Daniella applies theories in child development and evidence-based techniques to support emotional regulation, strengthen self-esteem, and encourage coping skills. Daniella integrates creativity and play with psychoeducation within her sessions for children to feel free in expressing themselves and to create a safe environment.

Daniella prioritizes a collaborative approach, as she partners closely with parents, school staff, outside providers, and caregivers to ensure that support extends beyond the therapy room. She provides guidance and parenting strategies that strengthen family dynamics and help children and teens thrive, particularly those experiencing emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Daniella’s therapeutic approach is empathetic, client-centered, and strengths-based, with a strong emphasis on empowerment, resilience, and growth.

In her free time, Daniella loves being around her family and friends. Daniella also enjoys cooking and traveling to new places.
