Red hands put together to form a heart

National Creative Arts Therapies Week (CATs Week) occurs each March in the United States. This week is designated to celebrate the creative arts therapies, including art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy and dance/movement therapy.

Today Creative Art Therapies are widely practiced in a variety of settings including hospitals, psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities, wellness centers, forensic institutions, schools, crisis centers, senior communities, private practice, and other clinical and community settings. Research supports the use of art therapy for the therapeutic benefits of self- expression and reflection for individuals who experience illness, trauma, and mental health problems as well as  those seeking personal growth.
